Privacy policy

Las Caletas Lodge is run by La Caletita de Drake S.A., in Drake Bay, Puntarenas, Costa Rica, which is responsible for this website and the personal data described here. For any privacy question, write to us at soporte@caletaslodge.com.

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web server, it processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We don't use this data to identify you.

Fonts, photos and videos come from our own site. Nothing is loaded from analytics or advertising services unless you accept optional cookies.

We only use optional cookies if you click “Accept” in the cookie banner. At the moment this covers two tools.

Google Analytics helps us understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages they read and where they come from. It sends this data to Google, which processes it under its own privacy policy, possibly outside your country.

The Meta Pixel helps us measure our Facebook and Instagram ads. It records the pages you visit and clicks on our booking, WhatsApp and email links, and sends them to Meta, which processes them under its own privacy policy, possibly outside your country.

If you decline, nothing is loaded from Google or Meta and the site works the same. We remember your choice in your browser's local storage. You can change it at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page, or with the button below.

Bookings are made on our Cloudbeds booking page, which has its own privacy policy. The details you enter there, such as your name, contact details and dates, reach us so we can prepare your stay.

If you write to us on WhatsApp or by email, we use your message and contact details only to answer you and arrange your stay. WhatsApp is run by Meta and has its own privacy policy.

Links to Tripadvisor, Google, Booking.com, Facebook and Instagram take you to those sites, which have their own privacy policies.

We use optional cookies only with your consent, booking and message details to arrange your stay, and technical data in our legitimate interest in running a safe website. We keep booking details and messages for one year after your stay (or after our last message, if you don't stay with us) and then delete them, unless the law requires us to keep them longer, for example for accounting.

Depending on where you live (for example in the European Union, or in Costa Rica under Law 8968), you can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, object to its use, or withdraw your consent at any time. Write to soporte@caletaslodge.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

If we add a new tool or change how we use data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Optional tools are only ever used with your consent.
