Frequently asked questions

The lodge is reachable only by boat. We offer a shared boat transfer from Sierpe to the lodge. If you arrive after 4 pm, luggage help and staff availability may be limited. Private transfers and transfers from Agujitas (Drake Bay) are available for an additional fee.

We can arrange tours to Corcovado National Park and snorkeling or diving at Caño Island, and help you organize other local tours. Boats leave right from our beach: Corcovado tours at 6:15 am and Caño Island tours between 7:30 and 8:00 am.

Warm all year round. The dry season runs roughly from December to April. The green (rainy) season, from May to November, brings lush forest and afternoon showers. Pack a light rain jacket whatever the month.

Breakfast and dinner are included in the standard rate. Breakfast is served from 5:30 to 7:45 am (at 5:30 am on Corcovado tour days) and dinner at 7 pm. Lunch is available from 1 to 2 pm (let us know at breakfast). Please tell us in advance about any allergies or dietary restrictions.

You can pay in cash or by Visa or Mastercard. We do not accept American Express. For your convenience, we settle the bill the evening before you leave. Drinks from our honesty bar are added to your bill.

A reusable water bottle (we have a refill station), sturdy shoes for hiking, sandals for boat landings, a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, a swimsuit and a light rain jacket. For Corcovado, bring a copy or phone photo of your passport. Food, single-use plastic bottles and knives are not allowed in the national parks.

There is no air conditioning: our rooms are designed for natural ventilation and have fans. Showers have gas-heated hot water. Wi-Fi is available in the common areas, but expect a slow connection. This is a place to unplug.

Yes. A path along the coast takes you to Agujitas/Drake Bay (about 1 hour), Río Claro (about 1 hour) and San Josecito beach (about 2 hours). Wear sturdy shoes, stay on the trails, and carry a flashlight if you walk at night.
